About The Philadelphia Region Interior Design Awards
The Pennsylvania East Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) presents the 2023 IDA Competition. The IDAs are an extraordinary opportunity for those involved in the Philadelphia Region Interior Design community to be recognized and acknowledged for their outstanding projects in the built environment.
The competition is open to all Interior Designers, Architectural and Design firms within the geographic area served by the Pennsylvania East chapter of the ASID. ASID membership is not required to submit an entry.
The IDA competition categories have been divided into commercial, residential, and student design. These categories will provide you and the opportunity to submit your favorite projects into the competition. For the complete list of categories, competition, and judging criteria, visit the Competition page.
The 2023 IDA Competition will be administered by CPJ Association Management. This is a new and improved online program that specializes in hosting design competitions and provides a simple and efficient way to enter your projects.
For the 2023 Competition the IDA Committee announces that the Student Design category winner will receive a $1000 Scholarship. The Cindy Haaz, ASID Memorial Scholarship is named after ASID PA East Past-President Cindy Haaz, ASID who passed in 2018. Cindy was integral in the formation of the IDAs in 2010.
The previous IDAs were tremendously successful, and we are excited to build on this impressive foundation. The competition begins October 28, 2022, with a submission deadline of February 17, 2023.
The IDAs will culminate on Friday, May 12, 2023, with the IDA Gala and Awards ceremony in Philadelphia where the winners will be announced. We look forward to celebrating the region-wide interior design profession at the gala.

Established in 1975, The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) advances the interior design profession and communicates the impact of design on the human experience.
We collaborate with others to promote the value of interior design. We prepare our members to excel in a dynamic and evolving profession. We generate, collect and disseminate applied knowledge.
Membership – ASID has a number of categories for designers at every stage of their career, including students of interior design. We also have membership and sponsorship opportunities for manufacturers and suppliers who provide products and services to the industry. Join ASID’s vibrant community of 25,000+!
Professional Development – We offer career stage programming that focuses on the Impact of Design, the Business of Design, Leadership Development and Health & Wellness. We offer both online and in-person engagement opportunities.
Research & Knowledge Management – Our research team provides economic, sector, career stage and, of course, design data and research to the marketplace. Through the ASID Foundation, we provide over $100,000 in funding annually to various research and scholarship initiatives to help build the knowledge community for the interior design profession.
One Voice – Our government and public relations team works at the state and federal levels to represent your interests as an interior design professional AND as a business owner. Our first priority is right to practice –whether that be through interior design legislation or seal/stamp privileges at the municipal level. In addition, we lobby on issues that affect the business of interior design.
